Socks, hives and dolls

Oh happy day. The folks at CB2 have just launched a new international website that now lets you shop your socks off whether you're in Canada, the UK or India, and a few more places besides. Now, if you fancy a larger piece of furniture you'll still have to give them a call and arrange delivery, which is easy-peasy (I've ordered gear by phone with CB2 on more than one occasion).

Anyways, I thought it would be fun to pick out 3 faves from their current collection. Up first, the award winning Hive stackable storage system. Love 'em and majorly ogled them when I last wandered through a CB2 store. Then, the Matryoshka doll craze continues with these hand painted patterntastic Russian Nesting Dolls. Finally, the Contact stool has such a lovely industrial heft, I'd love to see it as an occasional table as well as for a smart bit of seating. Oh, there's way more, like the Acrylic Tripod Easel which I'm currently trying to convince my other half would be a great addition to the house, but that's another story entirely.

UK okay

Yep, I've hopped the pond and I'm in the UK on my hols. So that means perhaps a few less posts over the next bit while we run about shopping at markets, hitting my fave stores and hanging out with family and friends drinking tea and beer (though not necessarily at the same time). In the meantime, here's a cool Union Jack pillow I found on Etsy.

Summer lovin'

Oh you can almost feel it. There's a change in the air and Spring is on it's way which, after a bit of iffy weather, will lead us rushing headlong into Summer (yay). In advance of soaring temps and bugbites I thought I'd share a taste of UK retailer Habitat's Spring/Summer '09 outdoor collection. They are a fave of mine since they take chances, they love colour, and there's always something that I want to try and cram in my suitcase whenever I visit. Hmmm, do you think that swanky Belize 4-poster double lounger, pictured below, will fit? No, lol? Well luckily some of their way more affordable deckchairs might...

You wash, I'll...

To quote Liz Lemon from 30 Rock - Blurgh! Just when I thought I'd gotten the teatowel collecting monkey off my back (I have, ummm, lots) I find a whole website dedicated to selling the darned things with oodles of fab ones to choose from, not to mention, my sister-in-law has just arrived back from the UK with a cute towel for me that celebrates the beauty of Tunbridge Wells. Maybe I can find a Teatowels Anonymous chapter to join. Oy, read more about my 'problem' and see more teatowels here...

Anyhoo, below are a few of my favs from ToDryFor. I've always have a thing for the firm People Will Always Need Plates, and now I know they do teatowels too, well, we're solid (they're the top 2, Kensal Green and Trellick Tower). And a new line totally worth checking is Mr PS (the bottom 2, Big Breakfast and Cafe Culture) who are way into vintage British caff signage (looove the towel that extoles the joys of a fried breakfast!). ToDryFor happily ships worldwide, just in case you need a teatowel fix as much as I do (lol).
