See you later!

Hey guys, so it's a dual sad/exciting day around here...

On the incredibly exciting side of things, my new job has been announced - I'm the Creative Director of Home Fashions for The Bay. And on the sad side, it's time to say buh-bye for now to the blog. It'll stay up, though I'll probably have to switch off all the comments (boy, those spam commenters are a giant pain!), but I just wanted to thank everyone for all their amazing support over the past few years of my online adventure. And stay tuned, since I'm sure I'll be back online soon with my new gig!

Thanks again, and I'm leaving you with a lovely print by illustrator Wayne Pate. Seeya!

Under the covers with Tracie

Last night I was whipping through The Bay, scouting for quelque chose for a shoot, and was stopped in my tracks by a delovely set of linen. This little wonder is called Sienna and hails from an Aussie firm, Aura by Tracie Ellis. The collection, smashing in black and yellow, was inspired by Victorian wallpaper and IMHO would be quite the bedroom statement maker. Loves it. Oh, and I included a close-up of the bedside table, since it has a fab nutty vibe with its mix of a Moooi Rabbit Lamp and a Patricia Urquiola designed T Table for Kartell (not to mention the great matte black wall). Here's hoping the nice peeps at The Bay bring in more of Tracie's line.

Not all white

While running around like a crazy person this week - hunting down just about every lemonade pitcher in the city for a shoot - I had a slow-motion oh, what's that moment while shopping at The Bay. This is Arabesque, a porcelain dinnerware service designed by Niels Refsgaard for Dansk and inspired by a mix of Japanese and Greek hand-painted pottery. I don't know about you, but I'm just loving the fact that it's not plain old white (and that I could throw it in with my all-white dishes and it would look FANTASTIC). Oh, and for more on the classic colour combo of blue and white click here.
