Arren Williams is the name, and I'm a stylist, editor and trend reporter. You'll catch my work regularly popping up in print in the likes of the National Post, House & Home and elsewhere. I'm also a guest expert on Citytv's CityLine, and you can occasionally find me on HGTV as well as on ABC 7 News in Chicago.
To keep things fun I've tapped a couple of friends - Julia Black and Jenn Hannotte - to contribute their views on design too. Enjoy!
Hey Kathy, Mix and match!!! I'd keep all the other metals polished in the space, and you might need to check and see whether nickel - which is warmer in tone - or chrome will work best with your polished brass. The look will be eclectic, but if you're cool enough to drag home a gorgeous claw-foot tub you're definitely cool enough to handle a fashionable mix of metals.
Cheers, Arren

Hi Arren,
We are renovating our washroom and just purchased a beautiful used claw-foot tub with its original solid brass faucets, fixtures and feet. However, we're not sure if all the other fixtures in the room must now also be brass such as our lavatory faucet, our lighting fixture, towel rod, etc. Or can we mix our metals and have a brushed nickel or chrome lavatory faucet, etc. ? Would that clash ? What do you advise ?
Many thanks.
Kathy
