Ask Arren > Powder Room Colour

Hi Arren,

Any suggestions on a fabulous colour for our powder room? The pedestal sink and toilet are white, floor tile is very neutral and light. There is no window in the room and the trim is white. I was thinking perhaps FB Mouse's Back or maybe a charcoal?
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hi SReed, Oooh, Mouse's Back is a lovely silvery grey/beige but, funnily enough, Farrow & Ball doesn't recommend pairing it with a bright white. Strange, because I think it would look quite lovely, especially if you do both the walls and ceiling in the same tone, and then keep the trim in line with the rest of your house. Of course, if you'd like a bit more drama you could go darker. Take a look at Down Pipe; it could look quite smashing...

Cheers, Arren

Thanks for the advice Arren! BTW, I was at Restoration Hardware on Sat. & noticed a big difference in the store! Gone is Silver Sage and the new signature wall colour is called Slate - I brought a tester pot of it home with me too! Lovely.
