Ask Arren > Help with Bedroom
Hi again Arren,
Sorry, I was tired...I hit send before I was finished.....
We have a really small master bedroom and we need more storage space in anticipation of the arrival of our new babala. I am thinking of flanking our bed with a bedside table on the one side and a six drawer dresser on the other.... using something like this from West Elm:

1) What do you think of the asymmetry?
width -- 22" vs. 54"
height -- 22" vs. 32"
2) Do you think I should not use matching furniture if I am going for the asymmetrical look? I know you are not big into matchy matchy :-) !! Neither am I ... so maybe need some direction from you to do something a bit more eclectic.
Thanks a million!!

Hey Lee, Hmmm, both are great pieces, but I really wish they were the same height, that way they'd relate a bit better (even if one was wider than the other). Instead, what about going with a pair of 3 or 4 drawer dressers? It's a more unusual - and eclectic! - choice than going with regular old plain jane night tables, and will give you tons of storage. West Elm has the Madison in a 3-drawer, and the Niche in a 4-drawer, both of which would look fantastic with a couple of mismatched table lamps and a wall-mounted headboard upholstered in something snazzy to bridge between the two.
Cheers, Arren

Thanks Arren!! Love your ideas -- and learning about design at the same time!! I will measure it out to see if it will all work!!

1) What do you think of the assymetry of this idea? 22" in width vs.
The dilemma is that the night stand is 22" in height and the dresser is 32" in height.
